John is an award-winning Filmmaker and music video Director, Professor and Media scholar.\u00a0 Formerly repped by WMA\/Endeavor in Los Angeles, he is the writer of numerous optioned feature screenplays with JACKED<\/strong><\/em> being his Directorial debut.<\/p>\r\n John has been honored with numerous awards, fellowships, scholarships and grants including Hard Rock Video of the Year (I Mother Earth)<\/strong>, 1995 MuchMusic; Global Vision Award<\/strong>, 2001 World Population Film and Video Festival, \u201cBeat the Blue\u201d; Best Sound Design<\/strong>, 2014 \u2013 48 Hour Film Festival, \u201cTilly\u2019s Special Blend\u201d; Global Groove Award (Buffy Sainte-Marie)<\/strong>, 1995 MuchMusic; Rock Video of the Year (Jasmine Cain)<\/strong>, 2013 Nashville Music Awards; and Director of the Year (Deric Ruttan)<\/strong>, 2013 Canadian Country Music Awards; Album Design of the Year (Chad Brownlee)<\/strong>, 2015 Canadian County Music Association.<\/p>\r\n John began his career in Ottawa, Canada as much sought after actor (Denim Blues, Princes in Exile, The Pianist<\/strong>).\u00a0 He studied Improv under the legendary Willie Wyllie and David Sheperd.\u00a0 He spent years doing stand up and sketch comedy (The Komic-Kazes and Yuk Yuks<\/strong>) performing all across Canada.<\/p>\r\n In 2011, he founded SmackDab Media, a production, studio and post-production facility in Nashville, Tennessee, where he worked with such artists such as Keith Urban, Dustin Lynch, Maggie Rose, Thompson Square, Jasmine Cain, Little Big Town, Young Buck, Steven Adler, Joy Williams, Lynam, Joe Bachman, The Cooper Brothers, Parmalee, The Voodoos, Jasmine Cain, Geoff Tate, The Wild Feathers, Sam Hunt and many others.<\/p>\r\n John is a former Program Director and Professor of Film and Media at The Art Institute of Las Vegas, Assistant Professor and Director of the BFA in Digital Filmmaking program at Villa Maria College in Buffalo, N.Y. and is the former Director of Park Productions and The Studio at The Roy H.
